Board Game Night

Hello CSSS Members, 


We’ll be hosting a Virtual Board Game Night on March 12th, starting at 6 PM PST, where we’ll be hosting Jackbox games, skribbl.io,Tabletop Simulator, netgames.io, Among Us and many more.

2021 SFSS Council Representative Election

Hello CSSS Members

 

The nomination period for the SFSS Council Representative for the CSSS is now open. The nomination period will last until23:59 on March 12th. The elected individual will hold the position of council representative from May 1st 2021 to April 30th 2022. If you wish to run please follow the procedure

listed below:`


  1. Fill out a nomination form (attached is a digital copy) with the nominee's signature and send nomination the form to csss-elections@sfu.ca. You CAN nominate yourself.  

  2. Have the candidate send a speech to csss-elections@sfu.ca by 23:59 on March 12th.
    Note: a speech is required to be able to run in the election. Please try to provide it with your nomination form.

  3. If you would like to see examples of past speeches, please check out:
    http://sfucsss.org/elections/
    Speeches will be posted here sometime today so check back later if you currently find nothing on the site.

Coffee and Code WorkShops

Distributed Compute Labs, SFU CSSS, and U of M .devClub are coming together to bring you an awesome series of events andworkshops that will introduce you to the world of machine learning, distributed computing and JavaScript.


Details:


What: A day full oflearning, networking, and fun challenges. For the morning sessions, you will get to choose betweenour beginner workshops for JavaScript orour advance workshops for Machine Learning with Distributed Computers.

At lunch, you will get to network with developers, industry professionals, and data scientists in a fun and non-intimidating environment.

Movie Night

On March 5th, starting at 6pm, we’ll be hosting a Movie Night. We’ll be playing one movie which will be voted by the viewers on discord on the day of the event! Here are the current options for the movie,
