CSSS - General Meeting

Hi everyone,

The next general meeting for the CSSS will be held on May 26th!

Day: May 26th, 2021

Time: 7 pm-8 pm

Location: Online on the CSSS Discord in the #General_Meetings Voice Channel (https://discord.gg/sfucsss)

I have attached a copy of the meeting minutes from the last general meeting. Please take a look through it and let me know if there is anything I should change :)

You are automatically a member of the CSSS if you are a declared CMPT Major, Minor, or Honours in any program of study offered at the undergraduate level by the School of Computing Science; or currently enrolled in any undergraduate course offered by the School of Computing Science; or are an Honorary Member of the Society.

Voting restricted to Members only.

Virtual Games Night - Friday, May 21st

Hello fellow CSSS Members,

On Friday, May 21st starting at 6pm, the CSSS will be hosting aVirtual Games Night. The event is a great opportunity to satisfy your craving of party games like Jackbox or skribbl.io, get together with fellow peers to squad up and take down a tough mission in your favourite videogame, or warm up and hone your Minecraft skills in preparation for the big event the following day!

Video Game Tournament - Minecraft Minigames - Saturday, May 22nd

Hello fellow CSSS Members,

On Saturday, May 22nd, the CSSS will be hosting the first in a series of gaming tournaments, beginning withMinecraft minigames! Starting at 6pm, join fellow peers in a series of different events, including:

-Hockey

-Racing

-Spleef

-Hunger Games

-An adventure map

Did I mention that there's also monetary prizes to be won for those that are skilled enough to come out victorious?

Movie Night - Friday May 14th

Hello CSSS Members,

Welcome back to another great online semester at Z̶o̶o̶m̶ ̶U̶n̶i̶v̶e̶r̶s̶i̶t̶y̶ SFU. As classes start up again, we resume our regular programming of Friday night events!

On Friday, May 14th, starting at 5.30pm, we’ll be hosting a Movie Night. We’ll be playing two movies which will be voted by the viewers on discord on the day of the event, with a break between the movies! Here are the current options for movies:

Movies: Spirited Away, The Dark Knight, John Wick, Kingsmen: the Secret Service, Ocean's Eleven, (insert titles suggested by members)

Additionally, if any of you have any suggestions for a movie to be added into the poll on Friday, please DM me at @justhelizard#1765!
