Hello Computing Science Students (yes, that's you!),


Have you ever been:

Too intimidated to approach a professor?

Too scared to come to office hours?

Feeling distanced from your own educators?


On Thursday, March 28th, come to TASC 9204 to meet your mentors and make small talk, or strike up a deeper conversation if that appeals more to you (save the academic questions for office hours though!). This is an opportunity to meet some of your professors and instructors and talk about various topics in a casual, low-stakes, environment and away from all the academic stress! 📚


Light refreshments will also be provided! The event is free, but registration is required ahead of time.

2024-2025 CSSS Election >> 26 Hours Left

Respected Computing Science Students,

We now reside inthe ultimate 26 hours. This is your final reminder. Nominations for the  2024-2025CSSSGeneral Election  ends on March 26th at 11:59pm PST.

If you wish to run for any of the below year-long positions, you must do the following:

  1. Email the CSSS Elections officer (hello)at csss-elections@sfu.ca, and write that you'd like to run in the 2024-2025 CSSS General Election
  2. Include your SFU computing ID in the email
  3. Follow the instructions in the email response that will be sent to you

If you do not follow the above steps, YOU WILL NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE ELECTION

The positions being offered for the 2024-2025 term are as follows:

  • President
  • Vice-President
  • Treasurer
  • Director of Resources
  • Director of Events
  • Director of Educational Events
  • Assistant Director of Events

The next general meeting for the CSSS will be held on Wednesday, March 27th, 2024. This will be the last general meeting of the semester, probably (unless... maybe... jk).


Day: March 27th, 2024

Time: 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Hello once again Computing Science Students !

Become notified that nominations for the 2024-2025CSSSGeneral Election  ends on March 26that 11:59pm PST.

This means that there are only6 days left (aaaaa) to run for any of the following year-long positions:

  • President
    // Very cool. S rank position. You make sure everything runs smoothly, get
    // to attend School of CS meetings, and be awesome

  • Vice-President
    // You get to run CSSS meetings, run internal projects, help the other
    // executives communicate, and do all sorts of cool things

  • Treasurer
    // Hey that's me. You get to manage money and wield spreadsheets.
    // Automating the job is encouraged

  • Director of Resources
    // You buy pop and make sure the rooms are snazzy and well equipped. Did you
    // hear that? Rooms. Plural

  • Director of Events
    // You're the mastermind who runs all the hackathons behind the scenes and
    // also oversee the events committee

  • Director of Educational Events
    // You get to dispense knowledge to CS students, like a spray bottle to a cat
    // 
    // *pssst psst pssssst*

  • Assistant Director of Events
    // You get to have a boss (and also write amazing BGN announcements that
    // make me cry for all the right reasons)

  • Director of Communications
    // You get to be overworked but are extremely impressive

  • Director of Multi-media
    // You get to make beautiful art and designs. More recently, even animated
