😎 Counter-Strike Tournament!!! 😎

posted by Arya Faghihy on March 8, 2024, 8:21 a.m.

COUNTER-STRIKE

It is one of the greatest first person shooter games ever made.
Millions of people have played this fantastic game since its first release as a Half-Life mod 25 years ago.
There are numerous Counter-Strike tournaments being held world-wide, with lucrative prizes for only the most fierce and dedicated players.

But how many of those people have played it with the person who invented it? You, dear reader, have that chance.

If you are shocked, take a deep breath. Read the sentence above again until it settles in your mind.

Still shocked? Haha, that’s normal too. Read it again.

And again.

And again.

It is with great pleasure that I announce this collaboration between the CSSS and the SFU Esports Association: The Ultimate Counter Strike Tournament to Rule Them All, Once And For All (TUCSTRTAOAFA)!!! 🔥 🤩 ❤️

We will be joined at this event by Minh Le aka Gooseman, game designer, SFU Alumni, and the inventor of Counter-Strike!

The event will be held on Tuesday, March 12th, in the SFU Esports Lounge, from 06:00 PM to 09:00 PM.

Prepare for an unforgettable tournament that will certainly be remembered until the end of times: Sign Up Here

Note: unfortunately we have a limited number of machines that can play counter strike, so we won't be able to accommodate everyone who signs up. But even if you aren’t able to sign up in time, feel free to come by, say hi, and watch a game 🙂

👑 CSSS Board Games Night 👑

posted by Arya Faghihy on March 7, 2024, 5:40 a.m.

Hello, I am Array’s Julius Caesar figurine. Array writes many announcements, and although they are exquisite, I think I will give it a try this time. I took his computer when he was taking a nap. He never stood a chance against my strategic superiority!

You might ask “how could a figurine carry something so heavy?” Good question.

I am pointing at you with my two fingers. If that is not enough, my
piercing eyes are also staring right through your screen and straight into your soul. I now expect your full and unwavering attention to my royal highness.

The Computing Science Student Society’s Board Games Night is back, yes! But it is now called
BGNICE – Board Games Night with ICE cream and hotdogs! Soda, of course, will be provided.

Oh, no. I see him approaching. He has found me hiding in the ASB.

I must escape for CSIL, goodbye! Does anybody know if we need a fob to enter CSIL?
...

Hey there! Arya here. Apparently my Caesar figurine finally did it! This time I will just add the left out details: the event will be on Friday, March 8th, @ TASC1 9204, from 08:00 PM - 10:00 PM. Please note the time change.

And now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to have a chat with my figurine.
