SFU Career Fair | Tech Fair 2022

Hi All,

I am pleased to announce that the Computing Science Student Society is bringing back ๐Ÿ’ป Tech Fair 2022 ๐Ÿ’ป, a technology focused career fair for Computing Science Students. It is being run this Wednesday, and is located on the Burnaby campus in the Northern AQ hallway (Images Theatre hallway) where companies will have booths set up for you to come by and check out!

Come on by and check out ICBC, Offworld Industries, Arista and Improving Vancouver (formerly Bit Quill Technologies) for a chance to network and learn more about their opportunities! ๐Ÿ‘‹

Wednesday October 26th
9:30am - 4:00pm AQ North - Company booths
1:00pm - 3:00pm AQ North - Free professional headshots for Linkedin


Even if you aren't currently looking for a job, please still stop by to chat, it can help you learn what companies are looking for!

I would love to see you there! I regret not taking advantage of more similar opportunities earlier into my degree to speak with representatives from companies about their career opportunities.

๐Ÿ’ปIEEE Xtreme Programming Contest

IEEE is organizing a programming competition for IEEE students and graduate members and SFU IEEE Student Branch would like to invite all undergraduate and graduate students to participate in it.

IEEEXtreme is a global challenge in which teams of IEEE Student members โ€“ advised and proctored by an IEEE member, and often supported by an IEEE Student Branch โ€“ compete in a 24-hour time span against each other to solve a set of programming problems.

Team: 3 IEEE members (maximum two graduate members)
Location: TBA (depending on Proctor)
Refreshments/Food: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snack will be provided

1st: Trip to the IEEE conference of your choice (anywhere in the world),

CSSS Beginner Git Workshop - Friday Oct 14

Whether you're excited for Fall Hacks or just wanting to learn a bit about version control, the CSSS will be hosting a Beginner Git Workshop on Friday October 14, 6:30 - 7:30 PM (ASB 9838*)

The workshop is catered towards students with minimal Git experience, hoping to get a bit of hands on learning. Feel free to join us at our General Meeting (TASC 9204) at 5:30PM, and/or go straight to the Beginner Git Workshop at 6:30PM (ASB 9838*). ๐Ÿ’ป โœ”๏ธ
