CSSS Technical Interview Workshop THIS WEEK!

Hello All - Seekers and Co-op Enthusiasts! 


The CSSS has a fantastic set of events is coming up this week November 3 and 4! TWO Interview Workshops - one led by representatives from ARISTA (who you might have seen at Career Fair just last week!) and the other led by an SFU Alumni currently working at Google!


The events are VIRTUAL and FREE! Volunteer to be the interviewee or just listen in! Whether you are seeking for co-op, full-time, or going to be seeking soon, these events are a great way to get a feel for the interview experience! 

During these events you will have the opportunity to:
- Volunteer to be the Interviewee!
Receive feedback on the quality of your answers/explanation!
Experience the famous LeetCode Style Questions!
- Hear the types of questions you might get at a Technical Interview!
Or just listen in and soak up the knowledge!!!! 🧠

CSSS Beginner Linux Workshop - Registration

Hello All! 


The CSSS is happy to host a Beginner Linux Workshop on how to navigate the basics of the Linux Terminal with the end goal of compiling a simple C program with gcc!


This workshop is catered to anyone hoping to learn the basics of the Linux Terminal, covering material that you will want to know for CMPT 125, CMPT 225, CMPT 295, and any other classes that use C or C++.

*Please note: you must be enrolled in a CMPT course in order to use the CSIL computers. Please contact me at csss-doee@sfu.ca if this is not the case!

⌨️CSSS x Mechanical Key Club Typing Contest

West Coast Virtual Fairs is back this fall with over 220 organizations/employers!

📢SFSS AGM

The SFSS Annual General Meeting (AGM) is coming up.

Attend and help shape a brighter future for all SFU undergraduate students.

The SFSS Membership (yes, that includes you!) entrusts an elected Board of Directors to manage the Society on their behalf. However, the Societies Act, of which the SFSS is governed, requires that certain matters be approved by the Membership at the Annual General Meeting, as the Membership is the highest governing body of the Society.

👉 Votes during the SFSS AGM count for issues such as: 
-Voting on the SFSS Bylaw Cleanup & Clarification
-Voting on Council E-Voting
-Voting on the Annual Report
-Reviewing and Approving the SFSS’s Financial Audit
-Reviewing and Approving the SFSS’s Finance Report
-Reviewing and Approving the SFSS’s Annual Report
-Approving Next Year’s Auditor
 

Date: Thursday October 27, 2022. The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m.
