Subject: Undergrad Research CS Opportunities!

Hi All,

Have you ever been interested in computing science research at SFU? One of the potential ways to give research a shot is through NSERC funding where you can get paid for working as a researcher.

Please take a look at the below message for more details about the application process and the potential openings.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Student,

Although we are still expecting the announcement of the NSERC/VPR USRA offerings to our department (next week or so), we would like to give you a preview of the faculty projects and Award information - https://www.sfu.ca/computing/current-students/undergraduate-students/research/USRA.html

Depending on each faculty project supervisor's preference, you may be asked to contact them individually first by a date they state, before formally submitting your applications to Coursys and NSERC portal as described in https://www.sfu.ca/computing/current-students/undergraduate-students/research/USRA.html This Coursys and NSERC portal are not yet open pending the announcement. When we receive news of that, we will email you again. We expect our students to submit these around Feb. 12th.

For questions, please contact cs_undergrad_program_coordinator@sfu.ca

Best wishes,

Xingdong Yang
