Re: CSSS | Raspberry Pi Pico workshop

Hi All,

Thank you so much for your interest in this workshop! I'm afraid we sold out of the 75 available tickets.Since we have a limited number of kits available, we will not be able to increase capacity.

With the large interest in this workshop we'll try to hold another one soon! If this sort of workshop interests you, I recommend you keep an eye out for CMPT 433 Embedded Systems (https://www.sfu.ca/students/calendar/2022/fall/courses/cmpt/433.html) as it will cover much more than we will be able to cover in this short workshop (I took CMPT 433 and really enjoyed it).

Best,

Mitchell Gale

CSSS President

Subject: CSSS | Raspberry Pi Pico workshop

Hi All,

Have you ever been interested in learning how to develop on microcontrollers (or even wonder what a microcontroller is!)? If so, then this workshop might be for you! In about 3 hours you will get to learn how to use the Raspberry Pi Pico and have some fun. You get to keep a bunch of stuff for free too!

https://www.raspberrypi.com/products/raspberry-pi-pico/

We always knew there was a cost barrier to entry, through this workshop you can learn how to work with the Raspberry Pi Pico to interface with various other electronic components.

You get to take everything we will work with home for free, this includes the Raspberry Pi Pico, breadboard, 7-segment displays, LEDs, resistors, capacitors, buttons, switches, potentiometers and more!

Registration link: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/raspberry-pi-pico-workshop-tickets-512267845917

Details:

Price: Free

Location: TASC 9204

Date & Time: January 28th, 2023 | 1:00PM - 4:00PM

Language used: Python (minimal programming experience expected (doesn't have to be with Python))

You will need to bring your own laptop!

Please only sign-up if you plan on attending, each development kit was expensive to assemble and it would be a waste to have it go unused.

Note: The Raspberry Pi Pico is closer related to an Arduino rather than a "normal" Raspberry Pi Computer!
