[Event] - BC Game Jam!

Hi CSSS Members, 


Ever wanted to make your very own game but never had the time? Want to learn more about what it takes to make a game?

BC Game Jam 2020 is the place to be! The BC Game Jam is an annual hackathon-like event uniting game developers across all disciplines to create a game. Starting from scratch, attendees will gather in teams and have the event's 48 hours to finish their project and show it off to everyone else.

- Where: UBC Nest
- When: February 14th - 16th
- Why: To have an awesome time!

[Event] - Board Games (Feb 7th)

Our next Board Games Night will be happening on February 7th 2020.


The details of the event are below:

Location: Forum Chambers 

Time: 5pm to 11pm

 

As always, this event is open to everyone, so bring your friends! 


Food and pop will be provided so come early to get some! If you have any dietary restrictions please let us know so we can plan for food accordingly.

[Hackathon] - CSSS Presents Mountain Madness

Hello CSSS Members! 


We are hosting our annual Mountain Madness Hackathon from Feb 22nd to Feb 23rd. 


[What is Mountain Madness]

Mountain Madness is the annual hackathon organized by the SFU Computing Science Student Society. Our hackathons are cozy, tight-knit events welcoming students from all University's of all skill levels and experience. The "Mountain" in the name homage to Burnaby Mountain, the original foundation of Simon Fraser University and the scenic location for a full weekend's worth of fun. The "Madness" part refers to the DeLorean and Rube Goldberg prizes we give to the madness [computer] scientists at the event!

[Event] - SFU AI Club IceBreaker

Hello CSSS Members! 


Our friends at the SFU AI Club are holding an icebreaker session tomorrow from 4:30pm-6:30pm at MBC 2290-2292!


[About the Club]


The SFU AI Club holds weekly meetings, and half of the meetings are focused on the technical side (workshops, starting AI projects, code jams, etc) and the other half is discussions about the field (roundtable discussions, guest speakers, AI news, etc). They also send out a monthly newsletter detailing what activities will be happening each week.
