[CSSS] General Meeting Announcement: Friday 3rd

Hello CSSS Members,
 
The CSSS will be holding the final meeting of the semester on Friday the 3rd.

This meeting will proceed differently due to the current social distancing measures instituted.

This meeting will take place online on the CSSS Discord(https://discord.gg/Eg5Urnr)  in the General Meetings Voice Channel.
 
Location Details:
Day: April 3rd, 2020
Time: 4:00pm-5:00pm
Location: Online on the CSSS Discord in the #General_Meetings Voice Channel
 
The following is the Agenda:
- Report of Officers
- Announcements
- Election of Elections Officer
- Appointment of a WiCS Liaison
- Open Floor
- Approval of Minutes

You are automatically a member of the CSSS if:
 
    A declared CMPT Major, Minor, or Honours in any program of study offered at the undergraduate level by the School of Computing Science;
    or currently enrolled in any undergraduate course offered by the School of Computing Science; or are an Honorary Member of the Society
 
 Voting restricted to Members only.

Subject: [Volunteer[ - CS Peer Tutors for Summer Semester 2020
 

Hi CSSS Members! 


 

The School of Computing Science is currently seeking FAS majors for peer tutoring positions for CMPT 120, CMPT 125, CMPT 127, and CMPT 165 for Summer 2020. 


Students interested in the following are encouraged to apply:

  • Instructional skills
  • Mentoring
  • Communication and leadership skills


Commitment is 3-4 hrs per week. 


Interested students should fill out the form and attach the requested documentation (a photo, short CV, Advising Transcript, and a short Statement of Purpose) here by March 20th: https://coursys.sfu.ca/forms/cmpt-cs-peer-tutor-application/


Interviews will be held during the last week of March 2020.

Grab a Pie to eat while you ponder the wonders of circles.

Enter an auction to win the honor of throwing a pie at Prof. Gary Wang from MSE!

All proceeds will be donated to the Vancouver Women In Engineering Chapter in support of International Women's Day!

Due to recent concerns regarding the Covid-19 Virus, we have decided to cancel tomorrow's (March 13th 2020) Board Games Night. Your safety is important to us and we would not like to put our members at risk. We apologize to everyone who have been looking forward to the event and wish for the safety of all of our members.

Hello CSSS members!

Our next Board Games Night will be happening on March 13th 2020.

The details of the event are below:

Date: Friday, March 13th, 2020
Location: MBC 2294 and MBC 2296
Time: 5pm to 11pm
 
As always, this event is open to everyone, so bring your friends! 

Food will be provided so come early to get some! If you have any dietary restrictions please let us know so we can plan for food accordingly.
