The next general meeting for the CSSS will be held on Tuesday, November 21st, 2023.

Time: 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

⚛️ Quantum Computing Workshop | CSSS

👀 Hey!!


Are you interested in Quantum Computing, Quantum Computers, or how Quantum Physics might tie into CS?

Then join us Monday, November 20th, from 5:00-9:00PM in TASC1 9204 for the Quantum Computing Workshop!

Taught by a PhD student in Quantum Computing, you will learn:

  📖 The history of Quantum Physics and how Quantum Computing began
  🧮 The mathematics behind Quantum Computing (basic knowledge in Linear Algebra is recommended!)
  💻 How to write programs for Quantum Computers in Python

A tutorial on running your programs on real IBM Quantum Computers will be given, too!


To best enjoy this workshop, please bring:

  ✏️ A pencil or pen for writing notes
  💻 A laptop (Windows, MacOS, and Linux will work)
  🤔 An eagerness to learn!

Skeleton notes will be provided, allowing you to take home what you learn.

The CSSS is hosting a Git / GitHub Workshop next Wednesday, November 15th, from 5:00-6:00PM in CSIL (ASB 9838)!

Come and learn about Version Control Software (such as Git), how to use the Git command line tool, and using GitHub.

This is an excellent opportunity for new students to learn about one of the most popular dev tools used in the industry!
