Hello CSSS Members,
The SFU Computing Science Society is proud to present our first ever entry on the CSSS Bounty Board! Here’s what you’ll need to know:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name: SFU Interactive Map
Deadline: June 29th
Greetings Developers.
In order to help students learn more about our expansive campus, we are requesting that your team develop an interactive map of the Simon Fraser University Burnaby Campus. This map should clearly identify all the notable buildings on the campus (MBC, West Mall Center, ASB etc.) The users of this application will be students and faculty of the university who would appreciate the help finding classrooms and other important locations on the campus. You may design this application in any way you wish. Additional features are appreciated, and entirely up to your discretion. Here are some examples:
• GPS functionality
•Room Finder
•Pinning Locations for future reference
•Additional Details for notable locations such as Images Theatre, or the Library
•Additional maps for Surrey and Vancouver Campus
You may use any programming language that you wish. The final application must be runnable on at least one of: Windows, MacOS, Android, iOS.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The submissions will be judged on overall functionality, polish, ease of use, and all-around style. Submissions will be in the form of a github link to the project repository. You are encouraged to make use of the ample time you’re given to implement as many features as you can, and to ensure that the final result is as polished as possible. We’d prefer that you not ask about what kind of things are good to implement or how to implement them, as there is no single correct answer. Rather, it’d be best if you experiment and see for yourself what works. Inquiries regarding the rules of the contest, however are allowed. We would like to reiterate that this project should not take away from time that should be put towards schoolwork.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
