Please make sure to include your resume, personal statement outlining community/volunteer involvement and a letter of reference from a community member who can verify the SFU community/volunteer involvement and the impact of your work in the SFU community.

Award Name: Computing Science Undergraduate Student Society Award

Program ID: UEAO042

Terms of Reference: , will be granted annually in any term to undergraduate students who meet the following criteria:

 - are pursing a bachelor's degree in the School of Computing Science;

 - are enrolled full-time in term of eligibility;

 - are in good academic standing; and

 - have demonstrated outstanding volunteer/community service involvement to the university.

 - a resume outlining the applicant's community/volunteer involvement;

 - a personal statement outlining community/volunteer involvement;

 - a letter of reference from a community member who can verify the SFU community/volunteer involvement and the impact of the applicant's role to the SFU community.

The award will be granted by the Senate Undergraduate Awards Adjudication Committee upon the nomination of the Dean, Faculty of Applied Science or their designate. The Director, School of Computing Science or their designate will consult with members of the Computing Science Student Society Executive during the departmental adjudication process. This consultation will take place unless prohibited by law.

Specifically I would like to highlight the Computing Science Undergraduate Student Society award which is accepting applications between May 9th-20th for this semester.Several $3000+ awards are available this semester.

To be eligible for this award you need (please read exact requirements when applying):

- Perusing a undergraduate degree within the School of Computing Science

- To be enrolled in at least 9 academic units in the term the award is being offered

- Have a minimum CGPA of 2.0 at SFU

- Have demonstrated outstanding volunteer/community service involvement to the University

There are plenty of different groups/programs students could have been involved in, some of which include:

- SFU Peer tutoring program

- Women in Computing Science 

- Computing Science Student Society

- Software Systems Student Society

- Game Developers Club

- Competitive Programming Club

The voting period for the CSSS By Election for the 2022/2023 term is now over and the results have been compiled.

There were 166 responses to the websurvey.

Your new Director of Events with 83 votes(54%) is Oliver Xie . There were 37 votes(24%) of no confidence and Clare Provezano had 33 votes(22%).

Your new Director of Educational Events with 53 votes(34%) is Valerie Kistrina. There were 34 votes(22%) of no confidence, Olive Xie had 30 votes(19%),Jennifer Dai had 24 votes(15%), and Clare Provezano had 15 votes(10%). 

Your new Director of Multi-Media with 56 votes(37%) is Yolanda Lam. There were 46 votes(30%) of no confidence, Gilbert Siu Chung Wong had 33 votes(22%), and Mantaj Dhillon had 17 votes(11%).

Your new Director of Communications with 65 votes(40%) is Johnson Luong. Hooyar Hamraz had 44 votes(27%), Rastko Koprivica had 19 votes(12%), 

 Congratulations to the new executives of the CSSS!
