This is a friendly reminder that tomorrow evening March 8th at 11:59 pm is the deadline to email me your name for the 2023-2024 CSSS SFSS Elections.

The CSSS Council Representative is a board of Director as a member of council. This is also aPAID position, you receive $195 for evert two weeks.

CSSS x Dodo Club Bowling!

Hi everyone,

 

The CSSS and SFU Dodo Club are collaborating to bring you a fun afternoon of bowling!

 

Here are the event details:

  • Date: Saturday, March 11
  • Time: 3:00 – 5:00 pm (optional dinner outing afterwards)
  • Venue: Revs Burnaby (next to Holdom Skytrain)
  • Cost: $15 (discount rate!) Includes 2 games and shoe rental.

 

Seats are limited!

 

READ CAREFULLY FOR SIGNUP INSTRUCTIONS

  1. From Tuesday, March 7 until Friday, March 10, come to the CSSS Common Room (ASB 9802).
  2. Scan a QR code in the room (which takes you to the registration)
  3. Follow the instructions for payment.

This is notice of the Computing Science Student Society's next general meeting.

You are automatically a member of the CSSS if you are a declared CMPT Major, Minor, or Honours in any program of study offered at the undergraduate level by the School of Computing Science; or are currently enrolled in any undergraduate course offered by the School of Computing Science; or are an Honorary Member of the Society. Voting is restricted to members only.

Attached to this email is a copy of last meeting's minutes. Have a look and reach out to your exec team if you have any questions.

2023-2024 CSSS SFSS Council Representative Election Nominations

Greetings,

The nomination period for the council representative position in the CSSS begins today, and lasts until 11:59pm March 8th 2023. This position runs until 2024 April. If you want to start the process of running run for the position below, please email the election officer [me] at csss-elections@sfu.ca with your full name and follow the instructions in the email I will send in response OR YOU WILL NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE ELECTION.

Note: This position is paid. You are paid $195 for every two week period. 


The SFSS Council Representative

The SFSS Council Representative shall:

  • Follow all Simon Fraser Student Society requirements for a Student Union Council Representative.
  • Act to further the best interests of the CSSS as directed by the membership, within the Simon Fraser Student Society Council.
  • Report on the activities of the Simon Fraser Student Society Council at General Meetings.
  • Submit a written report for each meeting to the Director of Archives for public distribution and filing.
  • Hold their position from May 1 st until April 30th of the following year

🎮 CSSS Board Game Night 🎮 + 🎙🎤 KARAOKE??? 🎤🎙

Hello everyone,

We hope all of you had a relaxing reading break! To kick off the latter half of the semester, the CSSS is having another board games night happening this Friday, March 3rd! With this iteration of our signature event comes the surprise return of another 🎤 KARAOKE SESSION 🎤 where you can jam away at your favourite songs. We will be adhering to a theme of formal or comfy to represent the return to school after a week of rest. As always, the event will be from 5 PM to 8:30 PM in TASC1 9204. There will be dinner provided and a wide selection of board games for you to enjoy. As usual, this event is open to all SFU students, so feel free to invite your friends!
