Hey all, Hack Time is starting at 3:30 in ASB 9705 today, and then moving over to TASC 9204 from 4:30 - 6:30. Unfortunately ASB 9896 was not available, though it will be used next week.

Remember to come with potential project ideas.

SFSS AGM + Build SFU Votes

posted by Colin Woodbury on Sept. 21, 2015, 1:44 p.m.

Everyone, tomorrow is the SFSS Annual General Meeting. There will be three motions regarding Build SFU:

  • SUB loan vote

  • Stadium loan vote

  • Build SFU levy protection by-law

These votes will decide the final form of the project. If they pass, the SFSS will be able to secure loans for the project, and then begin construction in 2016. If they don't pass, the project in its current form will end. It has been three years since the project began, and construction was supposed to have started this summer. However, student opposition garnered enough support earlier this year to fail the loan votes at the spring Special General Meeting. The SFSS is asking the student body tomorrow one last time: do you want Build SFU?

Please see the websites of both the opposition and the project itself: No to Build SFU and Build SFU.

The AGM is tomorrow at 3pm in the West Gym at Burnaby campus. You can ask your professors for academic accommodation so that you can safely miss class for the meeting. Please attend, and vote however you wish.
