May everyone have a successful midterm period!
The following message is from Stephen Makonin, adjunct professor in the School of Engineering Science. If you have questions about this event, please contact him directly at smakonin@sfu.ca.

Plenty of Fish (POF) and the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FAS) are excited to announce a 24-hour hackathon with a chance to win $6000 in prizes!

Come hack together a big data app that enhances the conversation (expressiveness and quality) between two people. Other interesting apps could detect conversation sentiment or even protect a person from spam or a scam.

Date and Time:
October 13-14, 2017

Location:

Big Data Hub, Applied Science Building
, SFU Burnaby

Please see the attached poster for full event details. Registration is now open: www.sfu.ca/fas/pofhackathon

Best,
Stephen.
