About Frosh

Frosh Week is the ultimate welcome experience for Computing Science students at SFU.

Organized by the CSSS, Frosh Week is a jam-packed week of fun activities that orients, entertains, and educates incoming university students with a CS twist.

Held during the second week of the Fall semester at SFU (Sept. 12-17), Frosh Week is organized by students, for students. Incoming students will receive valuable course, career, and transition-to-university advice from their elders; participate in challenges to triumph, amuse, and connect with other students; and get free food and merchandise!

Rumours swirl around the nature of this mythical event but the time has finally come for the greatest all-nighter at SFU. A time for the weak to crumble and the strong to thrive. We claim our rightful spot at the apex of the Applied Science student union hierarchy at the Slurpee drink-off, dodgeball game, and more. In the midst of the struggle for victory, there will be games and challenges of all sorts.

Make sure to tell your parents not to wait up. You definitely want to ensure no word leaks of the horrors that go on during the night so tell them you have a surprised CMPT 120 exam already! Remember, Midnight Madness lasts all night to prepare to be at SFU until Saturday dawn. Only the resilient and triumphant can make it to the RAMing Ceremony!

  9. RAMing Ceremony

    • September 17 (Saturday)
    • 6:00
    • SFU Burnaby, java.lang.PlaceUnknownException

You, the proud, the chosen, the survivors, shall face a trial beyond anything you have ever faced before. A trial culminating in your anointment with a token of fellowship as CS students. After partaking in this time-honoured tradition you shall finally transcend to the level of true Computing Science students. Once the anointed hour has passed you will take your first steps as true members, seeing our sacred ground in a whole new light.

  10. Breakfast

With the conclusion of the RAMing Ceremony, join your brothers and sisters in arms and eat! Reflect on the unforgettable fun you had this week and pledge to come back next year as a Frosh Leader.
