Its almost time for our annual Frosh Week Event. Frosh Week is a week long event dedicated to welcoming new students into our community, and we’d love for you to be there! The CSSS is currently seeking Frosh Leaders to serve as helpful and welcoming role models for our new students. Being a Frosh Leader is an excellent way to get involved in the community, get volunteering experience, and meet new people!

We’re looking for Leaders who are:

 • Knowledgeable and willing to provide advice to new students

 • Responsible and dependable role models

 • Welcoming, friendly, and understanding

 • Willing to help manage, set up, and clean up after events.

Hello all,

Just a reminder that the Summer 2021 End of Semester Social is fast approaching! As we move closer to the anticipated day, we have new details regarding the event including a schedule:

Event: CSSS/MSU/DSSS End of Semester Social

Schedule:

6.00pm - Event Start

6.10pm - Trivia Round 1

7.00pm - Trivia Round 2

7.45pm - Movie

Whole night - Virtual Board Games in various game channels

Gaming Channels:

Throughout the night, there will be channels for virtual board games. Choose from Jackbox, skribbl, Codenames and more with your peers depending on demand!

Trivia and Prizes:

There will be 2 rounds of trivia, held in the Trivia voice channel.

Round 1 - Summer-themed

Round 2 - DSU-themed

Gift card prizes will be given to the top 3 performers of each round, for a total of 6 prize winners. Other random gift card prizes will be drawn throughout the night. Each person may not win more than one gift card during the event.

Movie:

At 7.45pm, a movie will be played in the movie voice channel. Attendees will be able to vote on a list of movies prior to the start time. The list of movie choices are as follows:

Spirited Away

Pokémon movie of the organizers' choice

Rush Hour

The Pink Panther (2006)

Hello all,

Congratulations on finishing your exams and yet another online semester! To celebrate the potential end of fully online instruction for some of you, the Computing Science Student Society has teamed up with the Mathematics Student Union and the Data Science Student Union to bring you the Summer 2021 End of Semester Social!

On Saturday, August 28th, starting at 6pm, join all 3 DSU's in a night of trivia, movies, virtual board games and more! There will be prizes for the top scorers in the trivia, as well as other random draws for all attendees throughout the night! This is an event you won't want to miss!
