Due to the weather, today's general meeting will be moved to Friday, January 19, 2024, at 6 PM in TASC 9204 + Discord.

ELECTION RULES:

  1. You are allowed to run by proxy.
  2. Execs @ Large must be must be members of the society.
  3. All speeches will be cut at 2 minutes. There is no minimum duration for speeches.


You are automatically a member of the CSSS if you are a declared CMPT Major, Minor, or Honours in any program of study offered at the undergraduate level by the School of Computing Science; or currently enrolled in any undergraduate course offered by the School of Computing Science; or are an Honorary Member of the Society.

Voting is restricted to Members only.

My fingers creak of cold and icicles have formed on my eyebrows.

My nose is redder than a tomato ๐Ÿ… 

My glasses are frozen so that I only see snowflakes โ„, and my laptop is quite literally hotter than the sunโ€™s core โ˜€


I KNOW I SHOULDN'T HAVE TRIED WRITING AN ANNOUNCEMENT WHILE SITTING IN THE AQ POND BUT WHERE'S THE ARTISTIC INSPIRATION IN THAT?!


Anywaysโ€ฆ I am pleased to announce that CSSS Board Games Night has awakened from its deep sleep!

FAS Scholarships and Awards for Spring 2024 - NOW OPEN

Hello everyone,


Hope everyone is well rested from their winter break and enjoying the new year๐ŸŽŠ! On behalf of the Department of Computing Science, I would like to bring to attention that applications for FAS Scholarships and Awards for the Spring 2024 semester are now OPENThe application deadline for this semester's batch is Monday, January 15th at 3:00PM (PST) (not 11.59PM, please keep note of the time!).



I would like to the following awards and scholarship in particular that are applicable to CS students:
  • Computing Science Undergraduate Student Society Award (UEAO-042), TBD x $3000
  • Inspiring Women in Applied Sciences Award (UPAO293), 1 x $2000
  • Matthew Leduc Memorial Scholarship in Computing Science (USESO329), 1 x $900


In order to be eligible for an award, you must meet the following conditions:
  • Be enrolled in at least 9 academic units in the term the award is offered ( 6 unit minimum allowed for students registered with the Centre for Accessible Learning)
  • Have a minimum CGPA of 2.0 at SFU (waived in your first term at SFU), and be in good academic standing

In order to be eligible for a scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
  • Have completed a minimum of 12 units at SFU
  • Be enrolled in at least 12 academic units in the semester that the scholarship is offered ( 6 unit minimum allowed for students registered with the Centre for Accessible Learning)
  • Have a minimum CGPA of 3.5 at SFU



A full list of details and required documentation for each award can be found on the application form above as well.

And remember, the above information pertains specifically to Faculty-specific awards & scholarships for the Faculty of Applied Sciences and may not necessarily reflect on SFU-wide awards & scholarships.
